Why Invest In Fine Wine?

Why is wine a genuine
investment opportunity?*

The most sought after wines are produced in very small quantities. This limited supply and the growing global demand for them, has created a strong secondary market.

For decades, the demand for the finest and rarest wines has been growing. Since the mid-1990’s the new investment asset class of Fine Wine emerged with a particular focus on the very best from Bordeaux. With the growth in disposable income of the professional demographic in the 1980s and the increased interest in fine dining, the exposure to great wines inevitably builds the demand to understand, own and drink them at home.

The last 20 years has seen the emerging (BRIC) markets have an impact on all asset classes including Fine Wine.

UK investors should also be aware that fine wine is classed as a chattel and a wasting asset, and under certain circumstance can be exempt from Capital Gains Tax.

* Please note that past performance is no guarantee of future performance, that the value of investments may fall as well as rise and that you may not get back any amount originally invested.

Selecting Wines for The Fund

Only the very best wines have the potential for investment. These wines are consistently achieving very high levels of quality but with very limited production.
